Today I’m going to tell you something, which will save your time. If you holds more than one WordPress Blog and you want to interchange or changing their niche categories (it’s not that hard), obviously you’ll have to Migrate WordPress Blog Posts and Pages to another WP Blog. Complete Tutorial to Migrate WordPress Blog Posts and Pages to Another WP Blog:
No need to worry about anything it’s pretty simple as you turns your textbook’s pages. Let’s take a look on to the overview of the Steps we’ll be following in the tutorial:-
- At the very starting of the tutorial we’ll be setting up the category, author, dates etc… to import the Blog Posts and Pages from.
- In this Second step, we’ll be installing the WordPress Importer and uploading the exported file to the WP Importer.
- A Basic Setting to give User Credit.
And that’s all. Let’s move on to the Step by Step Tutorial of Migration of WordPress Blog Posts and Pages to another WP Blog:
To export the file, which contains a backup of your Blog posts or pages (whatever you’ve chosen there). Go to Tools>Export from the WP Dashboard Menu (left side menu).
Choose, what to Export?:
Export menu comes with a screen as shown in the screenshot below. This is the main interface of Exporting, where we choose what we export.
Here you’ll have to choose what things you want to transfer or migrate to your another WP Blog. Selecting 1st option ALL Content will Export your all the Content (includes Posts, Pages, Comments, custom posts, navigation menus and more on).
Selecting 2nd option Posts will drop a selection menu, where you’ll have to choose like from which date or author you want to export all the blog posts or blog posts of which category or author you want to export.
Similarly, other radio menus Pages, Media, Projects, Testimonials also drop their menus if they contains some data. After selecting any of the Radio Menu just Click on Download Export File and Save the Generated File to your PC (later on, we’ll be needing it).
Install the WP Importer and Import the Exported File
Now, go to Tools>Import and click on WordPress Importer at the very bottom of the Importer Plugins list. Clicking on WordPress Importer will open a popup for WP Importer’s Installation Overview, just click on Install Now.
Once WordPress Importer installed and activated.
Go to Tools>Import.
Now, Upload the File by clicking on Choose File. After choosing the file, we’ve saved in First Step. Then click on Upload File and import button. Once you clicked on the blue button.
You’ll see a screen as shown in the above screenshot. In-actuality it’s asking for Importing the Author or User (Who have created those Blog Posts and Pages). You can create a New User or you can assign all the imported Blog Posts and Pages to the Existing User.
There is no Need to Select the Check-box saying Download and import file Attachments, it’ll save a lot of Space of your WP Directory. And don’t worry about the attachments you’ve once uploaded in your post, by default it Copies the attachment location and your all the Images and Videos will load correctly.
